Korg R3 37-Key Synthesizer/Vocoder

Korg R3 is a full-fledged synthesizer that provides an easy and affordable way to enjoy sophisticated synthesis and advanced sound creation. In a compact and lightweight body, it packs 37 full-size, velocity sensing keys, along with 2-timbre/8-voice performance power.

The sound generator section uses the same acclaimed MMT (Multiple Modeling Technology) used by the Korg Radias, delivering thick, gutsy, and crisp analog sounds. With quality that will satisfy both professionals and beginners, the R3 is a great choice for adding synth sounds on stage or in music production.

128 Programs, all organized by sound category for fast access.

An R3 Program consists of two complete Timbres - each is a complete synth sound including dual Insert effects. The Program itself offers a master effect, plus an 8 step arpeggiator.

Two oscillators combine to offer analog-modeled waves, PCM waves, noise, ring mod and more. Waveform modulation, Variable Phase Modulation (VPM), Unison voice thickening, PWM and cross-mod expand the sonic palette.

Dual Filters can run in series, parallel, or side by side (individual for each oscillator). Filter1 features a resonant filter design covering 24 dB low pass, 12 dB low pass plus 12 dB high and band pass, with continuously variable "morphing" between these states. Filter2 offers 12dB versions of the low, high and band pass modes, plus a unique comb filter.

Two LFOs and three ADSR envelopes shape the sound and add cyclic motion to nearly any voice parameter. Connect various modulations sources and destinations together using the six Virtual Patches.

Modulation Sequencers (1-per Timbre) provide discrete values to a modulation parameter that change over time, either in stepped or smooth motion, and can loop over and over.

Audio inputs allow any audio signal to be gated and filtered using the internal synthesis and effects.

"Drive" adds analog warmth, Punch brings increased definition to the attack of a sound, and 12-types of Wave Shaping provides dramatic timbral shaping - even offering virtual "pick-up" response.

Two insert effects and a two-band EQ can be assigned to each Timbre. Choose from thirty different effect types.

The vocoder offers 16 bands with individual control over level and panning. Formant Motion records the formant of a sung or spoken phrase so it can be recreated anytime. A gooseneck mic is included.

4 Performance knobs each with a dedicated display and "halo-style" LEDs to see parameter names and values.
