Tascam FW-1082

 Firewire Audio Interface from Tascam is both a FireWire audio/MIDI interface and a mixing control surface that provides plenty of audio and MIDI I/O to small studios, while offering a control surface with moving faders for DAW use or for stand-alone operation.

The Tascam FW-1082 unit features ten inputs, including four balanced XLR microphone inputs with phantom power. Two MIDI inputs and outputs of Tascam FW-1082 are also included, plus S/PDIF digital I/O. Tascam FW-1082's Eight channel strips each feature a 60mm touch-sensitive moving fader and select/solo/mute button. Four encoders are also available for mix control, as well as transport and jog/shuttle controls. Stereo monitoring is included, and Tascam FW-1082 even mixes signals internally for stand-alone use. The Tascam FW-1082 unit includes Cubase LE 48-track recording software, the GigaStudio 3 LE streaming sampler and Nomad Factory plug-in demos.

System Requirements	The FW-1082 is supported under Windows XP and 2000 but not under Windows 98 or ME. Windows 2000 needs SP3 or SP4 and then the supplied Hotfix. Windows 2000 SP5 includes the Hotfix, so there is no need to install it separately. Windows XP needs SP1 and then the supplied Hotfix. Windows XP SP2 includes the Hotfix, so there is no need to install it separately. On the Mac, the FW-1082 is supported under Mac OS X version 10.2.8 or later. Earlier versions of Macintosh operating systems are not supported.
