Tascam BB-800

 makes recording as simple as hitting record on a boombox. Because that's what it is a simple recorder with built-in mics and speakers. Tascam BB-800 records to SD Cards, the same inexpensive media used in digital cameras and cellphones. Capture to either high-res WAV files or MP3 and transfer it to your computer using high-speed USB 2.0.

Tascam BB-800 blends two microphones on the front of the unit and two mics on the rear to record your band or event. You can also plug your own microphones into pair of XLR mic inputs with phantom power for studio-quality recording. There's even a limiter to keep your recording from accidentally getting distorted.

Play back your tracks with the built-in speaker system, and songs can be looped and slowed down without changing the pitch to learn new music. The built-in tuner and metronome provide audio-visual feedback for practicing students. A set of AA batteries powers the unit, or Tascam BB-800 can be plugged in with the included power supply. Tascam BB-800 also includes a wireless remote for starting the recording from anywhere on stage.

Four built in microphones with XLR inputs for an additional two microphones
Right out of the box, you're ready to record with Tascam BB-800. Four built-in microphones - two on the front and two on the back - mean you don't have to worry about plugging anything in. However, you want to hook up a pair of microphones, go right ahead! Two XLR jacks allow you to use plug right in. You can even mix the microphone inputs with the built-in mics, so you can sing into your favorite dynamic mic and play out loud, and Tascam BB-800 will capture both at once.

Reinventing simplicity in a portable recording device
The simplicity of recording with the BB-800 takes you back to the days of recording on a cassette boom-box (without the need to rewind). By running it on eight AA batteries, you get the convenience of portability &mdash but the BB-800 includes an AC adapter so you don't have to rely on batteries either. To record, all you have to do is hit a single button and the BB-800 does its job. By using inexpensive SD and SDHC card media found in cameras and smart phones, you can get up to several hours of recording onto a single card in MP3 format. You don't even need headphones, with the BB-800's 10W stereo sound system.

Musician-friendly features for a better way to practice
Variable Speed Audition with Key Control allows you to playback audio at a much slower rate without distorting it or changing its pitch. That makes learing to play those hard solos or intricate pieces with the BB-800 much easier. An onboard chromatic tuner provides a must have tool for any guitarist, and the BB-800's metronome provides audio-visual feedback for building your timing skills. The included wireless remote control means you don't even need to put down your instrument to access all of Tascam BB-800's important functions, so you can focus on practicing.
