ART Pro ChannelMicrophone Preamp is a multi-purpose tool enclosed in a two rack space chassis. Pro Channel features 3 independent circuits including a tube-based analog preamp, a VCA-less compressor switchable between optical or variable-mu control element and a semi-parametric, four-band, tube-based equalizer. The circuitry is a hybrid design making use of solid-state and tube technology. A transformerless design helps the Pro Channel maintain good signal integrity and exhibits extremely low noise. Although the order of the circuits can be changed using the insert points, normally the compressor circuit follows the preamp and the equalizer follows the compressor. While the preamp is active all the way, the compressor and equalizer may be individually bypassed.Pro Channel's compression circuit features a VCA-less design and uses optical or variable-mu dual triode electronics for superior musical performance. The compressor is soft knee by design, and though it can offer a thoroughly "squashed" signal, it was designed to good at areas where transparent and musical dynamics control is desired. The 4-band tube-based equalizer was designed to help "fix" the instruments that offer the most headaches when recording. Two sweepable parametric bands and selectable shelving bands overlap each other offering the ultimate in flexibility. The Pro Channel features balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4" inputs and outputs. The 1/4" input is perfect for DI or line level applications and overall the unit was designed to work seamlessly with any recording, sound-reinforcement or electronic instrument setup. Item Includes
