Best PCI upgrade you can get blows SoundBlaster out of the water! Clear clean sound unlike sounblasters crackling and hiss noises. Good for high quality recording, it makes people think i do my recording in an expensive studio when i'm just using my pc. You will not be disappointed!

Great Sound Card. Easy to install. Tech support professional and efficient. (WinDVD disk missing authorization number. request for number replied within 24hrs.) Made to last. Does everything the manufacturer says it can with ease.

I've been using these cards for a couple years. When I used a Mac, I had one in there and it was flawless, never any problems or glitches. The sound was also great, as good as any recording on cd.

If you get an M-Audio 2496 you should proven yourself as a musician. It is easy to install and use, the sound is brighter than the other cards you will notice that on the first use of it. No mic preamp it has, but has built-in MIDI for keyboards that support. I highly recommend it. But do not forget "if your operating system is Windows XP Media Center Edition then no M-Audio device drivers are supported under Windows XP Media Center Edition. This means that any M-Audio device designed to interface with your computer via USB, FireWire, or PCI/PCI-X is not supported for use with WMCE." I hope M-audio will resolve that incompatibility in soonish..

I figured this would be a great card, and i was right. It has everything I wanted, and it's the best cost. Some would tell me that the Audigy platinum is better than this card... I would not agree. The s/n ratio on the Audigy is terrible. It's not made for stuido work. It's made for being flashy, eating memory and being a waste of your computer's pci slot. Get an Audiophile and do yourself a favor... save cash for something else, and record with a winner.
