Sony BP-M50

 is a 49 Wh nickel metal hydride rechargeable battery pack. Provides additional solutions for your energy requirements for camcorders, cameras, portable VTRs and other "V-Shoe" mount devices. The "V-Shoe" connector locks the battery to any V-shoe equipped device. The BC-M50 charger can charge it about 120 minutes.

Features

Cell Chemistry
The BP-M50 battery pack utilizes NiMH battery cells. Interchangeable with most NiCd batteries, Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMh) batteries offer a greater energy density (up to 40%) over NiCds and are environmentally more friendly than NiCds since they do not contain cadmium. NiMh cells do not experience voltage depression, eliminating any memory effect concerns.

Premium Cells
Unlike conventional cells that are stressed or damaged by fast charging, these cells are designed specifically for optimum life and performance.

14.4 Volts
Most professional camcorders operate on a 12-volt system. As per their design, a majority of camcorders will activate a low voltage warning or even cease to operate when they determine that the battery has fallen below 11-volts. Most equipment manufacturers suggest that a higher voltage battery should be used whenever possible.

Protective Shell
The BP-M50 is protected by a high impact aluminum shell, which eliminates conventional stress points. A high impact plastic case and a thick shock absorbing internal padding protect the cells from impacts that would damage or destroy most conventional batteries.

V-Mount
All Sony DVCAM and Betacam SX camcorders include a "V-Mount" battery connection, allowing the battery to mount securely to the camcorder and the operator to easily remove the battery with one hand. The V-Mount has become so prevalent, that other battery manufacturers have adopted it.
