Sony F-720

 is a general purpose microphone for voice pick-up that features a special mechanical construction that reduces the affects of handling noise. It's suitable for presentation and recording applications.

For the F-720 mic, its cardioid polar pattern offers attenuation at the off-axis sections of the mic, making it suitable for use near stage monitors with minimal feedback. A contoured frequency response of 50Hz to 13kHz puts emphasis on the frequency range of the human voice and eliminates noise caused be excessive low frequency rumble. A matte black finish provides a non-reflective coat.

Low handling noise
Handling noise occurs when an object comes into contact with the microphone, contributing an unwanted noise in the output signal. The most common sources of handling noise being when the presenter changing his/her hand grip' or he/she fits the microphone on to a stand. The F-720's mechanical construction features a 'shock-mounted' capsule that helps to reduce the effects of handling noise.

On/Off switch
The integral On/Off switch allows the presenter to mute the microphone when not in use.
