 is a small camcorder with big camera performance, combining a Sony wide angle G Lens and a single 1/2.88" size Exmor R sensor with six million pixels to an adaptive MPEG-4 codec. Much like HDR-CX550V, the HXRMC50U captures 1920 x 1080 video at the full 24Mbps bit rate possible in the AVCHD format. That means smooth, high-resolution HD video that captures every detail recorded through the camera's 10x wide-angle zoom lens.

With HD picture quality to rival that of its "big brother" cameras, the ability to shoot still images as well as video, low light capability for nighttime shooting, an intuitive touch screen viewfinder, a detachable shotgun mic, and a built-in GPS that keeps track of locations, it's the optimum HD tool to add to your production arsenal.
