Software Synthesizer from Steinberg is an acoustic orchestra virtual instrument, allowing the user access to the full power and emotional depth of orchestral composition. The Steinberg HALion Symphonic Orchestra software is a cost effective way to deliver orchestral music for production and pre-production in music, TV and film scoring and game sound.

The library ships on three double-layer DVDs and spans over 1200 instruments in both 24- and 16-bit resolution, recorded using a professional ensemble. A huge range of articulations and expressive playing techniques are provided by Steinberg HALion Symphonic Orchestra, along with easy ways to find sounds. Imaginative programming allows the user to perform these articulations in a simple and elegant way using assignable controllers and key switching techniques.

Disk-streaming and efficient CPU performance both help the composer to effectively focus on composing rather than technology, while Steinberg's RAMSave technology allows for highly efficient use of the host computer's RAM. Due to its extremely versatile, Steinberg HALion Symphonic Orchestra is not only suitable for orchestral scores, but will benefit all styles, from baroque to R n'B and everything in between.

Over 15,000 Samples, each in both 16-bit and 24-bit versions organized in more than forty-five groups and over one thousand programs of solo, tutti and ensemble instrument sounds in various playing styles and articulations

Wide selection of playing techniques allows full control over a range of articulations including crescendo, decrescendo, accents, half and whole tone thrills, bowing, portamento, pizzicato, expressivo by using programmed facilities like key-switches, crossfades among others

All of the 1250 programs are clearly organized in detailed categories, making finding the right sound as easy as possible. The well thought-out library structure provides the ability to access any sound within a maximum of two mouse clicks

A single-window interface allows users to tweak sounds quickly and intuitively. Each program features eight predefined Sound Edit knobs which offer control over the most important sound shaping parameters like the "Body" and "Air" controls to easily add warmth, presence and richness

Key-switching allows for quick and easy changing of articulations in real-time by using specially assigned keys below the usual playing range

The Crescendo Controller feature of Steinberg HALion Symphonic Orchestra allows users to seamlessly blend samples of a note that is already playing between different dynamic characteristics in real-time with a configurable controller

"RealAmbience" offers true recorded ambience that can be perfectly blended into any mix or production. Using no artificial reverb, RealAmbience builds convincing environments such as concert halls and smaller, more intimate sound stages, with fully adjustable ambience time and wet/dry balance
