The Warm Audio. WA273-EQ dual-channel microphone preamp and equalizer is intended for engineers, producers, musicians, and vocalists in transportable recording setups as well as home, project, and commercial studios. It features up to 80 dB of gain and 3-band EQ. It is wired and assembled by hand and incorporates handmade Carnhill transformers to deliver the sound and functionality of old British ’73-style preamps.
The WA-273-EQ has balanced XLR and 1/4″ TRS inputs, as well as two front-panel 1/4″ TS instrument inputs. Switchable input impedance, polarity, ground lift, and phantom power connect to an external compressor or equalizer using the 1/4″ jack “Insert send and return jacks for TS. To handle unruly bass frequencies, the adjustable high-pass filter can be set to 50 Hz, 80 Hz, 160 Hz, or 300 Hz.
