The BOSS MS-3 Multi Effects Switcher is a sonic beast that can simultaneously operate six internal pedal effects while flawlessly integrating three external pedals. This switcher also has comprehensive rig control features, such as the ability to switch amp channels, modify effects in real time and work with MIDI devices. The MS-3 makes it simple to build a portable board or fly rig without the trade-offs that standard loop switchers and all-in-one multi-effects units entail.
Three separate effects devices may be connected to the BOSS MS-3 through the audio loops. You’ll probably want to use your favorite drive and booster pedals with the loops, but any effects will do. You may turn the loops on/off individually and place the MS-3’s inbuilt effects around them after your pedals are attached.
The MS-3 has 112 effects types to choose from in addition to the three external loops. FX1, FX2, Mod1, Mod2, Delay and Reverb are the six categories that are available at the same time. Overdrives and distortions, as well as compressors, pitch shifters, Slow Gear and other effects, are all included in FX1 and FX2. Mod1 and Mod2 include BOSS chorus and vibrato effects, as well as tremolo, flanger, phaser and other effects. All of the effects are wonderful for guitar, and there’s a big range of bass-specific effects as well.
The BOSS MS-3 Multi Effects Switcher may connect to a Mac or Windows computer via USB to run the free MS-3 Editor/Librarian software. Using a user-friendly visual interface, you can tweak effects, apply control settings, create tempos and more. Individual patches may be saved and restored, and groups of patches can be organized into Live Sets for different concerts.
