Echo AudioFire 8 Firewire Audio Interface is the perfect center for any professional studio, whether at home or on the road. Echo AudioFire 8 has been designed from M-Audio. Using Echo AudioFire 8 is easy for you to record 24 bit 96 kHz audio with low latency monitoring on any platforms such as Windows XP or Mac OS X computer (desktop or notebook) with FireWire port attached. Echo AudioFire 8 offers the same high quality hardware and software found in Echo's popular Layla 3G products, but with the addition of a FireWire interface. Echo AudioFire 8 has all features such as mic preamps, phantom power, channel inserts and trim knobs for plugging in to your microphone or instrument and record. Echo AudioFire 8 also comes with 8 balanced analog outputs (TRS), 6 balanced analog inputs (TRS), 2 FireWire ports, a stereo headphone output, word clock synchronization, S/PDIF I/O, MIDI I/O, and 10 channels of full duplex 24 bit 96kHz recording and playback.

01/13/2008 - The quality is great, the only mechanical parts are the 2 volume controls and if you leave them in a permanent position like 3 o clock & control your volume with your mixer this box should last you 10 years just keep a extra copy of your favorite software ( I use sonar 5 producer first choise & pro tools second choice ) 2 copies of your music productions, a new computer every 3 years but by then your Echo will be discontinued the driver wont exist any longer for your new computer and even if your Echo still working you will end buing the new Echo model in the market. A Good Product!
